Longhorn Graduation cake

by Katie
(Austin, TX)

I made this cake of graduation of the guardian of a friend, who was a graduate of the University of Texas.

It is a white cake with an almond-flavoured Italian Meringue frosting. The decorations on the highest level are basing.

I used longhorn cookie cutters to cut the longhorns and made of black based graduation caps, then used an extruder of clay to make the tassles and their painted with a mixture of luster and vodka gold dust.

If I could do so again, I would cover the cake on basis. The amount of colour that I had to use to get the burnt orange color gave the glaze off taste, in my opinion. (Then, maybe that was just me because I was looking for a flavor off)
